Microcredential and Macrocredential in Value-Creating Education for Global Citizenship

Description:

This complementary series of courses will introduce you to the educational philosophies and practices of Japanese educators, Daisaku Ikeda, Tsunesaburo Makiguchi and Josei Toda. Their human-centered, value-creating approaches focus on fostering socially self-actualized individuals who lead contributive lives in local and global communities.
For an introduction, you can take the four courses of the Microcredential. These highlight key concepts, themes and practices from Ikeda, Makiguchi and Toda, such as value creation and global citizenship. The Macrocredential builds on this foundation with explorations into additional core themes in the field of Ikeda/Soka studies in education, such as dialogue, communities studies, human geography, and research and scholarship in the field.
