DePaul University's Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) partners with several organizations both inside and outside the university that may aid in advancing your education. From degree requirements waivers to financial assistance for those in need, CPE is committed to providing you with options to help you meet your educational and career goals.

School of Continuing and Professional Studies

DePaul University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) provides a unique approach to learning for adult students, age 24 and older. SCPS offers credit-hour based, market-responsive professional studies degrees and stackable credentials. SCPS's programs allow you to satisfy your degree requirements using a combination of transfer coursework and learning experiences obtained through a variety of means.
Completion of a certificate program through DePaul CPE may be applied toward a degree program in SCPS. For more information, contact

The certificate programs listed below have been pre-approved by SNL.

Lifetime Learning Credit

DePaul CPE students may be eligible to claim a Lifetime Learning Credit of up to $2000 for qualified education expenses. The credit applies to out-of-pocket tuition for credit or non-credit courses that enhance professional skills or knowledge. There is currently no limit on the number of years the lifetime learning credit can be claimed. For more information, please consult the IRS Website.

Illinois workNet

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA) provides financial assistance to unemployed persons and those who meet federal low-income guidelines for the purpose of job training.
DePaul CPE is an approved provider of WIOA certified programs. From entry-level business courses to advanced management training, CPE offers a variety of programs for different skill levels. Increase your marketability in the business world by developing new skills or updating the ones you already have.
